I know this probably sounds like everything basically but there is more to this technology than just this.

    So of course, Encryption technology is the foundation of Encrypted Messaging.  Essentially, before a message is sent it is scrambled using an encryption algorithm, and then once it is the recipient uses a decryption algorithm to unscramble the message so they can then read it.

    i.)  Symmetric Key Encryption (SKE) – This involves using the same key to both encrypt and decrypt the message.  SKE is often used for message transmission within a closed system, such as a company network.  

    ii.)  Public Key Encryption (PKE) – Also known as Asymmetric Encryption this involves using a public key to encrypt the message and then a private key to decrypt the message after.  The public key is available to anyone who wants to send a message, but only the intended recipient has access to the private key.

    iii.)  End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) – This is a specific type of encryption used in some messaging apps, this ensures that only the sender and intended recipient(s) can read the contents of the message.  In this method, the message is encrypted on the sender’s device before it is transmitted, and can only be decrypted by the intended recipient(s) using their private key.  This means that even if the message is intercepted by a third party, they will not be able to read its contents.
